All Yuma Schools will be closed today, Thursday, Feb 7, 2019 due to busing issues. We apologize for any inconvenience but we are unable to provide safe transportation due to the temperature conditions.
Staff should report at 9:30 am unless otherwise directed.
School Closure
Due to the forecasted blizzard conditions, all activities for the Yuma School District will be cancelled and all schools will be closed, including the District Office, Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
Press Release from Yuma Police Department - 1/10/2019
In the evening hours of January 9, 2019, the Yuma Police Department received a report regarding an attempted kidnapping that occurred in the 800 Block of South Albany Street. Officers immediately responded and investigated the scene. Officers searched the city limits of Yuma and sent out a notification to all surrounding agencies. The child in question was able to get away to safety and was not harmed. The suspect was described as an dark skinned male, wearing a black beanie, black sweater, and grey shorts. The approximate physical descriptors on the party were about 5'8 and medium build. The male party was possibly driving a black full sized 2 door pickup (possibly a dually) however the make and model are unknown. The suspect has not been located. Anyone with information on the possible suspect, please contact the Yuma Police Department at 970-848-5441.

Good luck to the YHS Robotics team at the BEST Regional Robotics Competition
December 8th and 9th at the Auraria Event Center on the Metro State Campus. Dec 8th will be a practice day. The competition will be on Dec 9th with opening ceremonies at 9am. The public is encouraged to attend and cheer on our team!
