Press Release from Yuma Police Department - 1/10/2019
In the evening hours of January 9, 2019, the Yuma Police Department received a report regarding an attempted kidnapping that occurred in the 800 Block of South Albany Street. Officers immediately responded and investigated the scene. Officers searched the city limits of Yuma and sent out a notification to all surrounding agencies. The child in question was able to get away to safety and was not harmed. The suspect was described as an dark skinned male, wearing a black beanie, black sweater, and grey shorts. The approximate physical descriptors on the party were about 5'8 and medium build. The male party was possibly driving a black full sized 2 door pickup (possibly a dually) however the make and model are unknown. The suspect has not been located.
